Kiwi’s

 Kiwis are the main icon of New Zealand and are one of our native birds. There are approximately 1,000 kiwi left in Hawke's Bay and 70,000 left in New Zealand.

 Kiwis have their nostrils on the end of their noses because of such a long bill and it helps them to find food for themselves and their chicks. Adult kiwi usually mate for there hole life and are strongly territorial the kiwis chicks are in their eggs for 70-85 days and come out fully feathered. Kiwis are a flightless bird but many years ago they used to have small wings but could never fly with them. Over time the tiny little wings started to go and now kiwis only have one set of little helpers.

 If you live near any kiwis please make sure you keep an eye on your cat or dog or anything that could be a threat , and like I said at the start how there are only 70,000 kiwis left in New Zealand well there is a problem the number of kiwis are going down because stoats and other threats are killing them.

 Make sure you keep your dog tied up and cats inside at night if you live in or near a kiwi habitat and this can really help keep all kiwi safe.

 Try and avoid taking your dogs into kiwi areas or if you do always have them on a leash or have a professional train them.

 Kiwis are the main icon of New Zealand and I chose them because of this very reason and to see if I could learn anymore about this amazing bird the Kiwi and I have I learnt that we are slowly losing the number of kiwis in New Zealand because of other threats to them.

My favourite person

My Favourite person………..

After a long time of choosing one person to do my writing on I chose my sister Courtney. She is 15 and much much taller then me and the good thing is we never fight anymore cause she is always in her room but when she is not hibernating in her room and comes out she can be very helpful all the time as she is the best at spelling in the house. She loves to dance and is always practicing bella in the kitchen to get ready for her risitels. she has brown hair  brown eye  she is 15 and this is my favorite person.

Ah Sum

Ah Sum was a old man that lives on New Gold Mountain in a small bunch of villers and it is all near a small chinese village where Ah Sum has never been. With the only light being the sun and a fire And his house was made out of wood and big rocks. with paintings and pictures on the wall.

Ah Sum sill has a lot of hair that is black and many many wrinkles and his cheeks are starting to folded in. He where’s a black hat , black shirt , gray pants and a  pair of black boots.

Ah Sum nearly every day takes a bag of vegetables to every house in the village. He is a very nice person but no one ever notices. He is very helpful and kind to mostly everyone but Mrs Bishop.

Ah Sum is a man that will help people in trouble like when Jacob when he fell in the river. He help him by taking him home and taking good care of him.

Ah Sum also love giving people vegetables to eat.

Over all Ah Sum is a very nice man he is helpful , kind, nice. You could easily go up to Ah Sum and have a friendly conversation with unlike most people like Mrs Bishop.

Hey the shield is ours!

Go the Magpies ! The only thing I could hear walking into the Napier rugby grounds was cow bells from the Waikato rugby supporters and man they were getting on my nerves. But, now for the game. I was all ready to wave my huge flag but that did not happen much in the first 5 to 10 minutes because Waikato had already taken advantage of our tired magpies and got a try. Oh man ! eventually our Magpies got a try and a few penalties and then halftime came.

At half time a lot of people started to leave but not me,  I still had hope. In the second half the ball was going backwards and forwards between the two teams.  The Magpies were playing their best in the last 5 minutes, which was too late.

Then It happened!

A Moment in time...

5:00 IS TOO EARLY FOR ME.

It’s the 18th of September 2015 and it time for snowball fights we are are going to Taupo on a huge 60 seater 2 tv's tinted window amazing bus. It would take us 3 hours to get to the mountains so we could not stand up or breathe fresh air for 3 whole hours. Once we got up to the mountain we had a small morning tea by the bus and me and my friend Louis had ours at the back of where the engine was so it was keeping us warm.

Ok it time 321 snowball fight this was my first time seeing a lot of snow and probably the last for a while. It was an amazing time in the snow at one point I grabbed a huge snowball the size of my chest and throw it on someone. But it wasn't all fun because my fingers started to freeze up but at the same time i was lucky because my feet were all dry unlike everyone else with wet feet. It was really hard to run in the deep snow but that did not stop it from being fun.

But we could not stay at the snow forever so it was time to go to AC baths for a great swim with my friends. And a few slides which gave me bruises  and it felt like I was going down a black tunnel of doom. After all that pizza from pizza hut which was amazing the best pizza I have ever had and next a long trip home. WHAT A DAY !

The postponement day has come and all I wanted was to get it over with. We had to wait quite a while until it was year 7 boys for cross country. Once it had come I was starting to get quite nervous and feel like I would fall over but that would not stop me from doing my best. The bell went off I tried to run but everyone pushed me right to the back so I had to try really hard to get my goal of getting somewhere under 10th place.I had 7th the whole way through the race but I had one boy staying behind me the whole race and he kept me going but it was making me hurt everywhere just keeping him behind me and he was Louis and I teased him by letting him get really close to me then sprinting off again and again till the very end when he snuck up behind me and we had a race of our own for 7th place and I came … 7th well done me.

“Yes it’s finally working!”

It was the day we launched our own kites and not all them were working but it was still mostly fun and even better because my kite was starting to catch wind after a few modifications later. It would never go very high only about 10 meters but it was working and that's what mattered the most.

It was amazing to see all the kites in the air because a few hours earlier the classrooms were a mess because of them. About 10 kites had a crash landing and got turned into shreds and were ready for the bin and a few were fixable and some were absolutely perfect.

But we did not just make kites we also learnt some history about them like the fact that the Chinese made the first kites ever. And we learnt some names of different kites. After all that, it was an awesome day because all we did was kites, kites kites!

In this story I learnt that elephants get their own toothpaste but it now cost to much. The second thing I learnt was that the thing they use to make cheap toothpaste is allowed here is the list.

125 ml of hydrogen peroxide.

8 drops of red food colouring.

15 ml of dishwashing liquid.

200 ml of warm water.

15 g yeast.

I also learnt that chimpanzees get toothpaste to.

the last thing I found out were that Yeast is a microscopic organism.

The evil ladybug

The evil ladybug.

One day I wake up and look out the window it was a cold winter morning and the whole town was awake and moving.  And I had a huge idea that the world needed a ruler and the ruler should be me. But how would I do this??  I go and gather red and rusted metal from a old car that dad had when he was a teen. Also huge old tree trunks from the old shed out the back.

And start my crazy evil ladybug. It only took 3 hours to build because dad had the scrap metal from an old car so the metal was already shaped just how I needed it.

I am finished ! It looks great I test my amazing invention with the electronic chips I put in my hands that give me amazing power. Now I’m ready to take over the world hu hu hu sorry that was a bit dramatic. Come on let's go take over the world wait stop you need a name i’ll call you LADY BUG cause you look like one ok now lets go take over the world. We march down the streets and crush more than 100 car that was all I did for the first hour crush cars. I set fire to buildings and houses and crushed more cars and more and more until he broke well she broke noooooooo!

I started regretting everything I had done because the cops were on the way to get me and take me to jail forever probably and 2 hours later I was in jail, but not just yet I had crushed the jail so I was free but 2 years of being grounded will be hard with me luck.

The yellow highlighted piece is my favourite piece of this writing because it was when everything turned around and back fired. Also I liked this piece because it was dramatic which made me laugh.

My holidays

Holidays

What a holiday! It had snowed in Taupo and all we really saw was little patches that had not melted away on the side of the road. But 2 minutes after leaving the Tarawera cafe we were lucky because a huge big field of snow was open to the public to play in and all I wanted to do was throw a snowball at my sister. And I did ! But because I was not expecting to play in snow I had bare hands and it made my fingers feel like they were about to fall off. Still, I had to play in the fluffy white snow because it was my first experience and it was exciting.

What makes a Kiwi kid

A Kiwi kid is an adventurous outdoors kid. usually A Kiwi is playing with the dog at the beach and eating fish and chips off the paper wrapping. A Kiwi is just running down the fishing wharf and jumping in the water with all your clothes on. A Kiwi kid is having sausage sizzles in your driveway “ but that's not me.”

Being a Kiwi is a breeze and there is so much to see around New Zealand. Like the wild life / the amazing walks / sightseeing. I love New Zealand because of the beaches and lovely countryside.

I have lived here all my life and I will definitely stay here the rest.

I remember ....

I remember…….

I remember when I was a child I had a small toy that I named Teddy Mcleod. I took him everywhere to the shop , outside , preschool everywhere. I would always drag him by the arm and dage him along the ground. once I had the window down in the car when I was about two and put him out the window and let go. Luckily my sister saw so she told Mum . My Mum said my face was filed with shock after. A similar thing like this have happened like me leaving him in the shoe shop Hannah's and we had to go back the next day to claim him.

I remember because I would take him everywhere if I went outside he would come with me. And of course I had to drop him sometimes like when is was 8 I dropped him in my desert. And could not take him to bed. cause he was all slimy. I remember I had these small teddy clothes and I would sometimes dress him up in them thinking he was cold.

Even after 11 year of complete destruction from me I still have him to this day.

I slam on the gas and let go of the brake. The go cart wiggles around and then flies off into the distance.

I pass over 11 people in 5 seconds but I was going to fast and I slammed into the wall.!!! My set belt snaps and I fly into a tree.

Godspell

It was a production on the life of Jesus and it was performed in the new Iona auditorium . The kids who performed the show were from Iona and Lindisfarne I loved all the singing and dancing it was very well done and the drummer up the top was really good.  And it made sense because it is what we read out of the bible.It was worth the money and the time it took to get their. I would love to go to another one of their production.

Toxic waste

Toxic waste

It was hunting season and a deer was charging at me.  I ran up a huge  hill but then it happened.

I was not looking where I was going, it wasn't a hill it was a DEEP ditch in the ground I fell about 20 meters into toxic waste, it was very smelly green gas. My nose was about to fall off, it really smelt horrible. The waste was about 1 meter deep.  I looked down and I still had my legs.  I thought how will I get out of this.

I try moving, but all it was doing was making the toxic gas clamp down on me more and more. A small voice said “Hey you come here.”

“HELP I said”. He never said anything again. “Hey you!” there it  was again, I look up. It was a small man looking at me like I had done something wrong. He fell and I tried to run and catch him but I couldn't move. I never saw him again because he disappeared.

That night I fell asleep in the green gop. The next day I woke up not knowing where I was. But a few minutes later I found out I was in a hospital bed. I never went hunting again.

thank you for all the weekly postcards. At first when I signed up for war it was meant to be a once and a lifetime experience but now all I want to do is come home oh and happy birthday for to days a go. Please keep sending those postcard I love reading them please give the cats all my love.

sorry that I did not send a letter last week but the boat that takes them to the main island got blown up. and do not worry i will be home for Christmas. Tell Mum and Dad I love them and on the 18th I got hit with a bullet but not to worry I am fine.

ANZACs World War 1

I have learnt a lot about World War 1 but mostly about trenches.

In World War 1 all the Men would take something like a diary or bible or a picture to remind them about their family. Some men would take something but purposely lose it because they were distressed and been away for too long to look at a picture and not cry.

World War 1 trenches.

Fighting trenches were usually about 4 m or 12 feet deep. Trenches were never straight but were dug in a zigzagging or stepped pattern.

This is one of the Men's exact letters.

20th of May. The New Zealand Infantry brigade came back today. We were very glad to see it. We are all Australians and New Zealanders here now and it is wonderful what this means to the men. they have the utmost confidence now in the people either side of them.

I went to an ANZAC Service my first ever one it is not a once and a life time thing but I will always go to another.

26/ April /2015. It is a very special day to remember all the men that gave their lives for us. Three planes were flying through the air in the shape of an arrow. Two gun shots were fired in two the air as a remembrance. speeches were presented and someone presented the last post.

Olivia the drama queen

Olivia - THE DRAMA QUEEN

There was a little pig always in her room trying to look her best. Always thinking something small was something big. Like a missing piece of hair or a floppy air. The little Drama queen would always take 30 minutes to get ready for school and 20 to get up and out of bed.

She always look like an overdressed model in a fashion show. As she is always walking down the hall of the house like a model with a pose at the end she put ribbon round her airs and tail. she likes to look the best out of her hole school more like the world.

SHE will be dancing down the school halls like she just doesn't care. Sometimes she wants to be a pole dancer but her mum always says no because it is a silly dream. Every night she has a dream that she is a superstar and dances around her room IN HER SLEEP. But is good that she does all this because she mite became a superstar one day.

Her teacher is sometimes rolling her eyes at her because she is a silly little girl. that is alway jumping out of her chair and sing to the class. Like she is a popstar.

The Earthquake hits

The earthquake hits lantern city as the day comes to an end. All the hanging lanterns start to shake around. At first the small people think their homes are just getting hit by the high winds but they are not getting hit, it is the huge earthquake.  The chains that were holding the homes started to snap and let go of the oh so innocent houses.

All the big shops in lantern city started to lose their items out the door. As midnight falls\ the earthquake starts to calm down but the small people have nothing but a frown. The next day all the damage is seen. Piece by piece they search through the rubble. But nothing was ever found.

The second Gospel was written by St. Mark who in the New Testament is sometimes called John Mark. St. Mark was requested by the Romans to set down the teachings of St. Peter. This seems to be confirmed by the position which St. Peter has in this Gospel. In this way the second Gospel is a record of the life of Jesus as seen through the eyes of the Prince of the Apostles. His feast day is April 25.He died on April 26.

St Mark was a best of the North Africa county of Libya. He was born in the city of Cyrene in Pentapolis The western part of Libya west of the border of Egypt. St Mark was born of Jewish parents three years after the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.feast day is April the 25.
